HYBRID TRAINING
IN BARCELONA
Strength and endurance in the same session, without one eating the other. It is how people train when they don’t want to choose between lifting and lasting. At all four KOR clubs.
[ WHAT IT IS ]
NOT JUST WEIGHTS
NOT JUST CARDIO
Hybrid training combines strength work and endurance work in the same week — and often in the same session — ordered so that they don’t cancel each other out. That order is the whole secret: badly combined, one ruins the other; well combined, they hold each other up.
In practice it means that one day you squat heavy and finish with a rowing block, and another day you run intervals and do pulling accessories. It isn’t a cardio class with dumbbells: there is progression in load and progression in volume.
It is what we’re asked for most by people coming from a conventional gym who have lost their engine, and by people coming from running who have lost their strength.
[ THE STRUCTURE ]
WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE
Sixty minutes. You always know which part you’re in and why.
01
Activation
Ten minutes of specific mobility and raising your heart rate. Preparing the joint you are about to load, not wandering around the box.
02
Strength
The main block, with week-by-week progression. Squat, push, pull or hip hinge depending on the day.
03
Conditioning
The block that raises your heart rate: row, ski, bike, running or combinations. With set times and paces, not a contest to see who lasts longest.
04
Accessory
Core, unilateral work and everything that holds the rest together. The boring part that prevents injuries.
[ THE USUAL QUESTION ]
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT
FROM CROSSFIT?
They look alike and they are not the same. CrossFit works with more technical movements — weightlifting, gymnastics — and with WODs that aim for high intensity.
Hybrid training is more predictable and more structured: less complex technique, more linear progression of loads and volumes. If you want to learn a muscle-up, CrossFit is your place. If you want to lift more and last longer without going through Olympic technique, hybrid is your place.
And they are not mutually exclusive: plenty of people combine the two in the same week.

WHO IT IS FOR
You come from the gym
You have strength and you’re missing an engine. Here you get it back without losing what you have already gained.
You come from running
You can last, but you get injured or you plateau. Strength is what breaks that ceiling.
You're starting from scratch
It is the friendliest way in: less technique than CrossFit and clear progression from day one.
[ FAQ ]
WHAT PEOPLE USUALLY ASK US
Do I need previous experience?
No. Loads are adjusted to each person and the movements are simple to learn. The coach corrects you from the first session.
How many days a week do I need?
Three sessions gives consistent progress. Two works too, if you are regular.
Can I combine it with CrossFit?
Yes, and plenty of people do. We help you lay out the week so the hard days don’t overlap.
Is it the same as functional training?
They overlap, but hybrid has planned strength progression. It isn’t just circuits.
Is it good preparation for Hyrox?
It is a good base, yes. What we recommend is combining the two sessions, so you get the specific strength work that improves your Hyrox stations.
Is the first class free?
Yes, at any of the four clubs. Write to us and we will book it for you.
